Our Zipper Discussion
The standard water resist zipper has been field tested and worn in torrential rain. Very little water seepage has been experienced. However, there are three key differences between the water resist zip and the water-stop zip.

Positive lock position in the closed position
This is where the zipper ends. The water-stop zip has a complete sealed closure. The water resist zip does not have a dock system. Water can potentially migrate through the end closure.
Protection under water impact
The water-stop zip protects under wave impact or temporary immersion. Note: neither zipper is a diving zipper, which is much too stiff for use on a pack.
Cost
The water-stop zipper is more than six times the cost. We have to reflect this on the price of the pack.
We believe that with the standard water resist zipper you will have a drier pack than others currently available. However, with the water-stop zipper, we have pushed the art of the pack well past conventional limits. The choice is yours.
