Wind Seeker — Trip Samples
Imagine owning a sail boat that you can take on a plane as luggage, go to some exotic place with prevailing winds, and sail away! This is what you can do.
Starter Trip: The Florida Keys
Prevailing winds are easterly trades. Start at Key Largo and sail west the 100 miles to historic Key West. In the Upper Keys you can sleep at motels and campsites. In the Lower Keys you can branch out and explore exotic wildlife in the mangrove islands. You won't see many boats because it is too shallow for them; you'll be skimming effortlessly over water just a paddle stroke deep. There are all sorts of places where kayak sailing is the best way to go. Have a great sail!
Intermediate to Advanced: Bahamas, Exuma Chain
Fly with your Feathercraft and Wind Seeker Rig to Nassau. Catch the mail boat, and get dropped off along their regular route. Travelling with your very own "pocket yacht", you are able to explore places very few will ever see. Camp on white sand beaches, or check out one of the marinas with cabanas for rent. The trade winds will carry you back to Nassau.
